Essential Vitamins found in Herbs

Essential vitamins are needed for our balanced diet and once again the body does not manufacture them(except for Vitamin D 3) so we must obtain them from plants. Like essential minerals they do not provide energy but are critical for our well being and well functioned body. Essential Vitamins are either fat or water soluble. Fat soluble vitamins are Vitamin A, D, E, F & K, water soluble vitamins are C & B-complex vitamins.Fat Soluble Vitamins are stored in the body’s fatty tissue and do not have to be ingested daily. Water soluble vitamins are not stored in the body as well and as it means water soluble vitamins ingested are eventually dispersed in body fluids. You may notice that if you have a high dose of a particular vitamin it will be excreted in the urine. So here I have listed the essential vitamins found in herbs:
- Vitamin A Herbs:

Alfalfa, Basil, Dandelion, Kelp, Marjoram, Peppermint, Rosehips.
- Vitamin B 3 Herbs:
Alfalfa, Burdock Root & Seed, Chamomile, Dandelion, Feverfew, Peppermint Red Clover, Raspberry.
- Vitamin B 6 Herbs:

- Vitamin B 12 Herbs:
Comfrey, Seaweed such as Kelp, Nori, Karengo.

So as you can see there are an abundant amount of vitamins in a broad spectrum of herbs, not just for medicinal purposes. Plants such as vegetables and salad plant also supply a significant amount of vitamins.
