Drink Herbal Infusion Everyday

A herbal infusion is not just a cup of your favourite tea, but a natural method of administering herbs as an easily assimilated herbal medicine.

Dried organic herbs are best used as the drying process breaks down the plants cellulose wall and enables to constituents to be easily released.

Herbal infusions also offer a very important part of menopausal change for women, providing protein, special fats needed, phytoestrogens and minerals.

If you don't eat raw herbs and plants so much, it is another refreshing and nourishing way to get important vitamins, minerals etc.

Another plus for herbal infusions is that unlike common teas they do not contain tannin which is present in tea and coffee. Tannin inhibits the absorption of iron and when taken in larger quantities it can have a negative effect of the digestion of protein all which can produce low energy levels and indigestion.

Like Herbal Infused Oils it is very easy to make.

Depending on the requirements a general guide would be 15-30m of dried organicherb per 1000mls (1 litre) of water (preferably distilled).

The infusion time can vary from 15 minutes to 24hrs.

A general guide for you

  • Plants with volatile oils - 5-15 minutes, e.g chamomile, dill,peppermint
  • Flowers - 2 hours
  • Leaves & stems - 4 hours
Dosage: This can vary depending on why you are taking the infusion, but generally 1 - 3 cups per day, either hot or cold, some do like it iced. Infusions will keep up to 2 days in the fridge.
